When the football World Cup was held in Germany in 2006, Sportfreunde Stiller wrote the hit "'54 '74 '90 2006", celebrating the German national team's titles of 1954, 1974 and 1990 — in the hope that 2006 would soon follow. It didn't happen then, but in 2014 in Brazil it famously did, and since then the song has become a permanent Wiesn staple.
